Hyperdrive Inn is a point & click adventure where every playthrough is unique and thrilling adventure. The game harnesses the power of randomized content, delivering fresh experiences with each new start, offering a fusion of replay value, a poignant narrative, and stunning audiovisuals.

You are Aino, a young woman tasked to find her enigmatic father, Mr. Hilbert, who has vanished into thin air after triggering a cataclysmic set of events that threaten to unravel reality itself. Players will encounter weird characters, cool puzzles, and interesting environments, just what you’d expect from an adventure game, especially one set in an Infinite Hotel!

Hyperdrive Inn has been designed from the get-go to be completed several times. The game offers several distinct playthroughs ensuring that no subsequent journeys are the same.

This is achieved through the means of randomized content, but not in the way you’d expect: everything in the game is scripted – as it should in an adventure game, but the way the levels of the game are connected to each other changes every time you start playing.

Thanks to randomized level selection, the experience is completely unique in its own way for each playthrough. Different paths are chosen from an array of interconnected levels that link with each other perfectly, and give the user a sense of never-ending adventure and discovery.

Adventure games have been continuously evolving since their inception decades ago, progressing from text adventures to mouse-driven point & clicks and the most recent AAA approaches. At their core, adventure games have always been a combination of puzzles & narrative, and Hyperdrive Inn will make no exception to this tried & tested core formula.

Hyperdrive Inn seeks to bring a breath of fresh air to the genre by adding an element of randomization, making every playthrough an unique experience, while also aiming to continue the tradition of adventure games by excelling in telling a good and engaging story combined with character interactions and puzzles that link seamlessly into the narrative.

Taking influences from the classic point & click adventure games of LucasArts and the likes, Hyperdrive Inn features no sudden deaths or mazes, and the game is designed to be played with a controller ensuring smooth & flowing gameplay.

Graphics of Hyperdrive Inn are made from scanned fabric samples. We have painstakingly scanned hundreds of different fabric samples which are used to texture all assets used in the game.

This visual style makes the game stand out, and gives it a very personal vibe. We are paying homage to Eastern European animation tradition, as lot of the children’s shows presented in Finland during 80s and early 90s were based on stop-motion animated fabric characters.

Another core feature of the game is the soundtrack which takes heavy influences from Finnish folk music. Much like the fabric-crafted visuals, folk music hasn’t been utilized in video games, which will make Hyperdrive Inn stand out from the competition. Audiovisuals of the infinite hotel are one of a kind.

Cliff Rockslide is a beloved news reporter from Butterfly Valley. And Butterfly Valley is one of those very unremarkable places where nothing happens. Except once you look a bit closer and you see that actually, those are the exact places where everything happens.

Local News with Cliff Rockslide is a point-and-shoot interactive story about Cliff Rockslide, Butterfly Valley’s epic news, zombies, cults, mysterious cubes, and everything and anything that can happen in a small town. The story is hand-crafted by one of Finland’s top comedians and it can be described as country-side comedy.

Your mission in the game is to shoot all the action to your camera as the freshly-hired cameraperson of Cliff. Follow the intense (and nonsense) action, point your cam, and shoot those shots.

The project was completed with the help of funding provided by the European Union European Structural and Investment funds. The funding was used to create a demo version of the game which was then distributed for publishers to showcase the project. With the help of the demo we were able to secure a publishing agreement with Bonus Stage Publishing who helped us to enter the market both on Nintendo Switch & PC.
